School Revival - High School Workshop

A common sad story

Imagine your teenager is being bullied at school; for something they did or said. Maybe they didn’t do anything at all, but the bully decides to wrongfully pick on your child because of what they look like, their nationality or how they act.

The school bell rings, “Thank God!” The bullying ends. Or does it?

Your child goes home, a place of safety, to then log onto their social media accounts, and comes across inappropriate and destructive comments, memes, rumours or images from the same person or a group of fellow students against your child.
The bullying continues. The nightmare continues.

A moment of TRUTH

1 in every 4 students in Australia have experienced bullying.

School Revival

What can we do?

Bullying leads students into a damaging and vulnerable way of thinking, which unfortunately is usually kept hidden until its too late.
The negative impact affects their confidence, school attendance, participation in activities, self esteem and academic performance. It can also have long-term physical and psychological consequences/impact.

The workshop will cover the below;
- Becoming bully proof
- Awareness of how their own actions and words hurt others
- Identifying the different shapes and sizes of what a bully looks like (It's not always obvious at first)
- Speaking out and seeking help
- Creating a positive and caring environment for all students (in person and on social media)

Our Presenter

Eric Agyeman

A victim of racial bullying in primary school, Eric had first-hand experience of being bullied. Being the only African in his school, he experienced constant teasing, isolation and fear which led to him missing many days of school. The bullying led to anger and other emotions he didn’t know how to identify or navigate at the time.

He was suspended 4 times in high school as a result of his reactions to this circumstance. It became a very dark period in his life, as he struggled to fit in and accept himself, and it led him to having suicidal tendencies. Two decades later, having overcome the pain and impact of bullying, Eric is now passionate about helping young people do the same!

Through personal experience and research, this workshop will build your student’s confidence, create a positive environment and educate them to make the right choices for their future
